Changing your username is not a trivial task and is not automated.

Some internal records may break on a change of username. Additionally, your new preferred username may already be taken.

In short, a change of username - while in theory possible - can only be done manually by us, and as such is to be avoided. If you feel very strongly that you do indeed need a new username, please contact us and we shall see what we can do about it.
